ZHANG Xiaomeng, Female, a member of the Communist Party of China (CPC), professor, doctoral supervisor, a leading young talent of the “Ten Thousand Talents Program” (National Special Support Program for High-Level Talents) and a “Wu Yuzhang” young scholar of the Renmin University of China (RUC).

Main Research Areas

Marxist political philosophy, national governance and Chinese modernization theory, and foreign Marxism and comparative study of Chinese and foreign political parties.

Research Achievements

Professor Zhang has published eight Chinese or English academic monographs and translated work and more than 80 academic papers in leading journals. She has presided over more than 30 projects of the National Social Science Fund and the Chinese Ministry of Education.

Professor Zhang was awarded first prize of the Fok Ying Tung Education Foundation (FYTEF) for Outstanding Young Teachers of Higher Education and awarded the title of “Young Outstanding Teacher of Beijing Colleges and Universities.” Concurrently, she holds the positions of executive member of the Chinese Association for History of International Communist Movement (CAHICM) and executive member of the Chinese Historical Materialism Society.

Educational Background

Professor Zhang Xiaomeng obtained a double bachelor’s degree in philosophy and law from the Department of Philosophy and the School of International Studies of Peking University, respectively. She obtained a master’s degree in international affairs from the Paris Institute of Political Studies (Sciences Po) and holds a doctorate degree in philosophy from Tsinghua University. She was a visiting fellow at the Kennedy School of Harvard University sent by the Chinese government.
